Beautifully made by Craig, this Tasmanian Blackwood Medium Jewel Box is a stunning gift for that special person or occasion. It is lined with luxurious black suede and divided with internal ring fittings and compartments to store your treasures.

Blackwood is a native Tasmanian hardwood which appears in a rich variety of colours with a stunning grain that can be straight or wavy. It has a lustrous appearance and is a strong, long lasting timber.
About the Maker: With a keen eye for perfection and based from his home workshop in Launceston, Craig apprenticed under his late father Bruce for may years, continues the fine craftmanship of Bruce's Boxes in a modern workshop with all the newer woodworking tools. Craig believes that at the end of the day nothing beats the finish of good old fashion 'elbow Grease,' in other words, he believes the quality of finish is as much about feel as sight.
Craig knows his timbers and only purchases select grade material sourced in Tasmania for his boxes. The timbers arrive seasoned and ready to be machined to dimension. Craig thicknesses each board and then invests extra time to colour match each component to provide the best combination for each box.
Over the years Craig has built relationships with a small number of well-respected millers and timber merchants in Tasmania and always makes sure to source his timber sustainably. Bruce's Boxes are fine solid timber products. Unlike glossy thin veneers there is no substitute for the feel, smell and look of real solid timber.
